Keyword search
Outline provides a powerful and fast search functionality that can be used to find information in your knowledge base. You can use the following operators within text search:
-keyword
Removes results matching the keyword”multiple keywords”
Matches the full phrasekeyword1 OR keyword2
Matches either keyword
AI answers

This functionality is available only in Cloud hosted and licensed editions of Outline.
This feature enables direct answers to searched questions based on the unique content of your workspace. When relevant, AI answers will appear at the top of the search page and inside of Slack search results.
Setup
A workspace admin must first choose to enable “Ai Answers” under Settings → Features. Once enabled, it takes just a couple of minutes to index the content and for answers to be available – the admin will be emailed once indexing is complete.
Please note that your workspace data is not used for AI training under any circumstances.
Usage
The best way to get the most correct and relevant answer is to ask a specific question in search or the command menu where the answer exists within the workspace documents. For example “What are our holiday policies?”, “Are dogs allowed in the office?”.
AI answers will be generated for long queries without a question mark or short queries that include a question mark character.
Permissions
Answers are restricted to the users permissions and will only contain information that is available within documents that the current user can access. If an answer cannot be found it may be because the user does not have permission to view the collection in which the information is contained.
Drafts are not currently included in the documents used to generate answers, but may be in the future.
Quality voting
Each generated answer shows references to the documents that were used as a source and voting buttons to thumbs up or down the generated answer. Voting is not required, but helps to improve the quality of answers over time.
