Search results inside Glean

The Glean integration allows all of your content to be indexed and available in this enterprise search engine. Outline will synchronize all documents and their permissions in realtime based on mapping user’s email addresses.

Setup

• Ensure you have the outline-enterprise image installed and licensed

• Under Settings → Integrations → Glean add your custom endpoint and API key, you can obtain these from your Glean account manager.

• Click “Connect”. Any existing data in the installation will be synchronized in the background – this should take less than a minute or two.

Limitations

• Changes to documents and permissions in Outline are usually sent to Glean in just a couple of seconds, though they can take longer to show in Glean’s search results.

• Errors while syncing will be retried up to 5 times, they will also be logged in Outline’s standard log output but do not appear in the UI.

• Disconnecting and reconnecting will trigger a full re-index.
